OTHER INFO: Rea had a very sad start to her life in Bosnia where she was kept in a small cage outside a house. She was never let out and ended up discarded when she was no longer wanted. Rea was rescued from her sad existence in September 2020.
Rea had become very reactive towards other dogs within the kennels environment due to stress so we found her a place at CBRC.
Rea has been at CBRC for a little while now and she has done well on her journey there. As with all of our dogs at CBRC, you will need to live in the Devon/Somerset area.
Rea is fully harness and muzzle trained and has made great progress with her training in general. She is a bouncy, lively girl and she can be strong on the lead.
Rea is a bit of a worrier which can lead to reactivity. She will need a handler not just an owner to help her to feel safe. Rea does not like dogs getting in her face and will react by lunging and barking if she is put in this position.
Rea has learnt calmer social skills when meeting and greeting humans but she is high level stranger reactive and will need to use a secure, safe space when it comes to visitors.
Rea would benefit from a rural or semi rural home with a family who have Rottie or GSD experience and understanding. Rea's family will need to be able to commit to a few meet and greets at the centre beforehand and will need to work remotely with Joy on a weekly basis.
Rea has passed her time at rehab with flying colours and this beautiful girl is now ready to find her forever home and live the life she deserves. She is a lovely girl and she will do well in the right home.
